5 Rivers of Punjab: Fine Dining at Mani Square Mall

1

Yesterday we went to dine at the 5 rivers of Punjab, a lovely restaurant at the Mani Square Mall on the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass. I had been there with some friends earlier but the experience this time was even nicer.

The first thing that drew our attention was that the waiter brought some tid-bits to nibble while we ordered our things. The starters were quite tasty though we missed our favourite Veg platter (not available here). We ordered several vegetarian dishes in the main course and these were well cooked and had nice aroma.  This joint offers several dishes from Punjab and Kashmir.

A word of caution: the waiter will bring 2 menus one for Punjabi dishes and one for Kashmiri. Don’t just read one thinking that the other is just another copy.

They have a nice collection of mocktails and we ordered the chilled Kashmiri Kahva with peach (don’t recall the name, sorry). It was quite nice though the Kahva part was subdued under the peach.

The paan shot at the end is a pleasant surprise and works as a nice mouth freshner (it is on the house).  Overall, it was a nice evening out with my family. Check it out.

Thanks for posting the review.

I regularly take clients who visit us from overseas to 5 Rivers for dinner. The interior is nice, specially the large chandelier in the middle , which I think is awesome.

The black lentils (simmered overnight!) and Raan (Whisky/Rum battered Lamb Leg) is usually the favorite and as you pointed out the pan shot a the end is a cool idea! The place offers a good collection of Cocktails, Spirits, Wines , Beers and few decent Wines to wash down all the good food.

Actually, “simmered overnight” has become a joke with one of the client now as they once sent a RFP and and the response from us was delayed for some reason and I just said – “Oh! It has been simmered overnight!” and we will just have a good laugh.
